My name is Henny Speelman, and I am a data visualization and storytelling expert from Belgium. I love switching on light bulbs with people, facilitating those ‘aha moments’ that open up new possibilities.
After 10+ years in the data world, I saw one thing holding teams back again and again: communicating with data. We invest in tools, dashboards, and AI. But if the message isn’t clear, the value is lost.
I created the A.R.T. model to fix that. It stands for Attention, Recognize, Takeaway. It reflects how our brain works and how data should be presented. I later developed N.O.V.A. (for dashboard design) and M.U.S.E. (for data storytelling) to turn insight into action.
As AI reshapes our world, I help professionals become better in their jobs. Not just in how they use data but in how they stay critical and aware of the growing role AI plays—when it helps, when it misleads, and how to use it with purpose.

Over the past decade, I’ve learned how to translate complexity into understandable concepts. Whether in a keynote, report, or dashboard, I bring structure to chaos. As a speaker and consultant, I take pride in the moment someone says, “Now I finally get it.”
● Henny as a Creative
With roots in Renaissance art and Greek philosophy, my creative thinking is layered. Creativity, to me, is a process. You get better at it when daring to look differently. Whether I design a dashboard, or shape a data story, I use the same creative energy I’d use for a painting. (and with the same intention.)
● Henny as a Rennaissance thinker
Being a Renaissance Thinker means reimagining what it means to be human in the age of data. We wear smartwatches, live in smart homes, and work in smart systems. But that doesn’t mean we’re making smart decisions. I challenge conventional thinking, blending philosophy, art, and science to rethink how we work with data, inspired by stoic ideas and ancient wisdom.
